About Me

Hi, my name is Marie and I am proud Oakland resident! Despite its struggles and bad reputation, Oakland remains to be one of the most soulful places I've ever lived in. I am a 24 year old Political Science major studying at UC Berkeley and Berkeley City College; but foundationally my true roots are in the arts community. I am a supporter of community enrichment through self-expression. Gaining the privilege to help further develop OurOakland Eastside Stories as this culturally powerful tool of heritage preservation and locale celebration makes me grateful yet again to live here and most of all, excited to meet all of the bright people who create the tightness of the Oakland fabric.
