We Rise

"The lotus is a flower that grows in the mud. The thicker the mud, the more beautiful the lotus blooms. This idea is expressed in the Buddhist chant, nam myoho renge kyo." Walking through AW Pottery this spring in East Oakland, I was surprised to find among the towering ceramic pots, this majestic and beautiful buddhist statue. Like discovering this statue, I am constantly discovering my community.
